Celebrating Tradition with a Menorah Objet d'Art

Finding this simple, antique brass menorah on eBay a few years ago was a real win, as I’d searched high and low for just the right one to gift to my husband, Adam. Adam was raised Jewish, and after our son was born he wanted to start lighting candles at Hanukkah in order to pass along some of the meaningful tradition. Personally, I love the eight nights, eight lights ceremony at Hanukkah, and was all in with celebrating both Hanukkah and Christmas with William.

With an antique item such as this I can’t help but wonder about the lives it touched before it came into ours. What were the conversations shared around this very menorah? What did the journey entail for this piece to make its way first to Massachusetts and then on to California? And will it survive for another few generations henceforth?
