A visual comparison of 3 popular photo print sizes
Here is a comparison view of 3 popular print sizes of the same photograph, Rametto di Eucalipto. Rametto di Eucalipto has a horizontal orientation versus a vertical orientation, meaning that the longest dimension is left-to-right, rather than top-to-bottom.
Clockwise from above, the larger print on display is a 24 x 30” that hangs on the wall, the smallest print at bottom right is an 8 x 10” and at left is a framed 11 x 14” print with a 3” mat and narrow, white wood frame. We don’t always realize that an 8 x 10” print is quite small for larger wall spaces… but if you stop to think about it, an 8 x 10” art print is actually smaller than a standard 8.5 x 11” letter-sized piece of paper. 8 x 10” prints are the smallest option that I offer and they work really well in tight spaces and/or as part of a larger gallery wall composition.
In this modern farmhouse home office corner that I set up you can see that the framed 11 x 14” with surrounding mat board lends an expansive feel to the artwork, as well as a certain formality. For a ready-to-hang solution, the 24 x 30” and 8 x 10” Rametto photographs are printed on archival maple wood…. note that the sizing is the same for fine art photo canvas prints and maple wood print options.
